Meet Information for Marlins vs Barracudas - May 31st 2025
Hello, Marlins!
Last week we had an interesting challenge of an afternoon home meet at the RRAC and thanks to all the support from our Marlin’s family as well as the help from the Stingrays who let us use their tents we had a very successful meet and were able to get done on time without cutting any events.
This week we are finally back home this week and will be hosting the Anderson Mill Barracudas for a dual meet.
Updates for this week -
Quick steps to the morning:
- Park in a designated area (see parking details below and attached map)
- Check-in your swimmer(s) at the front gate to the pool (before 6:15a)
- Check-in your volunteer(s) at the front gate to the pool
- Take your swimmers to their age tent, setup their chair, and introduce them to their tent parents
- Electronics should be kept at home - they can easily overheat or get wet as there are often water guns at meets.
- While it might not be as hot as last week be sure to bring plenty of water and let’s all encourage swimmers (and parents) to hydrate!
- When your swimmer is out of the water, they need to keep their cap off of their head and only put them on when they are by the ready bench. Have a conversation with your swimmers that they should not be running around in between events. Tent parents will help with this, but this is a great opportunity for card games, board games, and arts & crafts
- Have fun!
If this is your first swim meet, you can watch this video (how-to video ) demonstrating how to mark your swimmer’s arm with their event-heat-lane, but the Tent Parents can also help with this.
Please let your child know that sometimes the relay lineups change, or heats & lanes of individual events can change. This happens because sometimes people get sick or can’t swim for other reasons, and the coaches will adjust events accordingly. Tent Parents will let swimmers know if this happens. Tell them not to worry if their Tent Parent tells them something different from what is on their arm.
VERY IMPORTANT: Please check in at the front gate when you arrive (see timeline, below for details). If you don’t check in, you could be scratched from the meet! There will be a volunteer check-in and a swimmer check-in. Look for a couple people holding clipboards by the lifeguard desk. If you can’t find the check-in area, ask your Tent Parent, or anyone wearing a Board of Directors shirt, to point you in the right direction.
After checking in, drop your swimmer off in their age group tent. All tents will be labeled with Boys or Girls and Age Group. Swimmers stay in their age group tents throughout the meet under the wonderful care of their Tent Parents. You do not need to get your swimmer ready for their events. The fabulous Tent Parents will get everyone where they need to be!
If, for any reason, your swimmer needs to leave their tent, they need to talk to their Tent Parent first. You can trust the Tent Parents to help them with everything, from putting on swim caps, to finding lost goggles, to bathroom trips.
For Saturday, Don’t Forget:
- Cap
- Goggles
- Towel
- Chair
- Sunscreen
- Water Bottle
- Snacks
- Shoes
- Team t-shirt
- ** Blanket, sweatshirt, … it can be cool in the morning and especially the little swimmers can get cold!
- Entertainment (book, coloring items, card games, stuff your child might take to entertain themselves on a road trip)
- Label everything, and check to make sure you have all of your things before leaving.
Special Note About Tech Suits:
Tech suits are not permitted during summer swim. Swimmers who wear tech suits will be disqualified from their events.
Pictures and Videos:
As a reminder no cameras or phones are allowed out behind the blocks. Feel free to take as many pictures and videos as you want from the SIDES of the pool - thank you!
Don’t Forget to Mark Your Swimmer’s Arm!
Save yourself some time in the morning, and mark those arms with a Sharpie before bed on Friday night. If you mark in the morning, just make sure to do it before you apply sunscreen. It’s helpful to put your swimmer’s name on their arm, too! Here’s a how-to video for marking arms.
Pool Location
4203 Pasada Ln, Round Rock, TX 78681
Parking
Parking is an important issue with the HOA and MUD. It is extremely important to follow these parking instructions, so that we can comply with our contract and to be respectful guests of the neighborhood. Parking map is attached.
WE ASK THAT THE POOL PARKING LOT AND ANGLE PARKING ON SENDERO SPRINGS DRIVE BE RESERVED FOR THE VISITING TEAM.
* Marlins will arrive earlier than the visiting team, so please leave angled parking for them, and park at Hatch House/SouthStar. *
Parking priority for our team is as follows:
- FIRST - Hatch House/SouthStar Bank parking lot (easy 3 minute walk to the pool). Please do not park in the businesses on the east side of the intersection as some of them are open on Saturday and we want to respect them and their customers.
- SECOND – Angle parking on Sendero Springs Drive
- THIRD - Specified and limited neighborhood parking ONLY IF NECESSARY
NOTE - Swimmers and items can be dropped off at pool before you park.
THERE IS NO PARKING ON EITHER SIDE OF PASADA FROM SENDERO SPRINGS DRIVE TO THE POOL (SEE MAP).
Vehicles WILL BE ticketed and towed without warning by the Williamson County Sheriff's Department if they are in a restricted area!
We ask that everyone please watch their speed in the neighborhood. The parking plan includes angled parking along a busy street that families will be crossing. We want everyone to be safe.
Please bring one vehicle per family if you can, and carpool when possible. It is very important that everyone follow the attached map of where parking is allowed. We have parking volunteers to help direct people, but please only park in places where parking is permitted as per the attached map. Green shading is parallel parking, and any red areas are no parking areas.
Tent Area
We will have age group tents for swimmers set up inside the pool fence. Please set up family tents outside the fence.
