Swimmer Arm Labeling 101
At swim meets it is helpful to mark your swimmer's arm using a Sharpie Marker with their event number, heat number and lane. Keep the order to Event-Heat-Lane so that everyone is uniform. We strongly suggest that you mark your swimmer's arm before arriving at the meet using either the information on the SwimTopia app or the heat sheets posted to our website, but if you cannot, the tent parents will make sure they have their events written. Occasionally things change on the day o the meet, and if this is the case the Coach and the Tent Parent will help your swimmer make their race. IMPORTANT: Do this BEFORE sunscreen and try not to put lots of sunscreen on top of the marker area of the skin. It will rub off the sharpie.

The video covers all the details but just in case, we have an example below with a picture. Let's say your child is swimming the following:
- 25 Freestyle - Event 12, Heat 2, Lane 3
- 25 Backstroke - Event 32, Heat 1, Lane 6
- 25 Breaststroke - Event 46, Heat 3, Lane 1
You would take this information and mark their arm with the following:
- 12-2-3
- 32-1-6
- 46-3-1
Below you will see a picture of what it should look like. In addition, you can write your swimmer's name at the top. This is helpful for the Ready Bench and Timers.
