About Us

Who are the Marlins?

The Brushy Creek Marlins Swim Team is a 501(c)3 , not-for-profit summer swim league team thathas served the community since the Brushy Creek MUD was formed in 1977. We are a member of the Northwest Swim Circuit (NWSC) of greater Austin, Texas area. Our team swims out of the Sendero Springs pool, part of the Brushy Creek MUD, in Round Rock, Texas.

Our swimmers range in ages 4-17 years. We strive to promote personal improvement and teamwork. Our goal is to provide a positive competitive swimming environment that will help develop good swimming skills, a forum for friendships and fun, and an overall experience that will enhance team spirit and sportsmanship.

Our team typically begins practices around May 1, and swims for approximately 10 weeks. We practice 5 days a week and have competitions most Saturdays until the culmination of the season at our Divisional Championship Meet. We are a competitive swimming team and swimmers are encouraged to attend a minimum of 2 meets. Parents are required to volunteer.

The success of the Marlins program is built upon the efforts of 3 teams. They are the parent team of volunteers, the coaching team and the swim team. T.E.A.M. stands for: Together Everyone Accomplishes More. We are on the D.O.T. (desire, opportunity, and training) with our three teams. The swimmers provide the desire. The parents provide the opportunity. The coaches provide the training. Leadership by example of parent volunteers sends a strong message to the swimmers that we as parents are not only community team players, but have an active interest in our swimmers and what they are striving to accomplish. Without parent volunteers, there is no program.
