Newsletter 4: Off we go!
Kudos to all the new Marlin swimmers and parents who attended our Time Trial on Friday, May 1.
The weather was not great, but those who showed up did a fantastic job and we all did our best to keep things moving and keep the swimmers warm. Weather is unpredictable and we may be wishing it was cold and rainy later this summer when it’s over 100℉….
Kendra Scott Fundraiser:
Today is the last day to shop online with our Kendra Gives Back Fundraiser. Shop online and use our code!
Meet & Volunteer Sign up:
This opened for all on Sunday, April 26 for the majority of the swim meets (exceptions are the the Divisional Championship Meet (swimmers need to have swam in at least 2 meets this season prior to this opening) and the Invitational Championship Meet (swimmers must have swam in a meet this season and achieved a time that is as fast or faster than the invitational time cut).
If you have not done this yet, please go to the Team Calendar on the website (found here: https://bcmarlins.swimtopia.com/swim_meets) and identify if your swimmer will attend the meets this summer. The website works the best to do this over the SwimTopia App and instructions are along the side of the page. Note: If your swimmer is attending the meet, you are expected to volunteer at that meet, and this is also where you sign up for your volunteer role and shift. Volunteering is an expectation, not a suggestion. Our lovely Volunteer Coordinator, Liz Leonard ([email protected]) works very hard to make sure all the roles are filled and if you do not sign up, she will assign you a shift.
If you forget to RSVP, then your swimmer is marked as not attending and not entered in the meet. It is not possible to do late entries. It is always possible to remove a swimmer from the meet at the last minute. If you are unsure, it is best practice to mark your swimmer as attending and we can remove them last minute if needed.

Heads up: Both swimmers and family members should bring their own camp chairs to sit in when not swimming or volunteering. If you do not own any, this is a heads up that you will need some.
